Overview
The Chrysalis Players of the Wilmington Drama League proudly present the tragic true story of Anne Frank, the young Jewish girl who hid with her family and four others in an attic for two years to avoid detection by the Nazis.
Based on Anne’s own words, The Diary of Anne Frank depicts the courageous story of Anne, her parents and sister, the volatile Van Daan’s, the grumpy Mr. Dussell, and the Van Daan’s teenage son Peter. Forced into hiding, the group struggles to maintain their identity, dignity, and sense of family. As she grows up in this difficult and often terrifying environment, Anne holds on to her personal belief in humanity and even experiences love and romance with Peter.
The Diary of Anne Frank is a profound, moving, and often very funny story of survival, courage, and ultimately hope.
