Performed on select Saturdays in our lobby, the Chrysalis Players’ Pillow Plays series brings great theatre to our youngest patrons! Pillow Plays has become a local phenomenon as we’ve taken our short plays to local libraries and schools, including the Newark Free Library, Woodlawn Library, and (new!) Bayard Taylor Library in Kennett Square, PA. Best of all…the plays are FREE!!
Don’t miss our next pillow play on Saturday, December 5th – a Christmas-themed comic mystery with a twist. It’s a great short play geared toward kids 10 and under (but don’t worry…grown-ups are allowed to enjoy them too…). Showtimes are 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. As always, admission is free!

What dinner party could run smoothly when the host has shot himself in the head? (Don’t worry, it’s just a flesh wound.) When the Brocks’ get-together goes awry, friends try to hide a potential scandal. No one knows exactly what’s going on, and each time new guests arrive, the cover-up becomes more complex until no one can remember who said what about whom. Misunderstandings and mistaken identities add hilarity to this fast-paced side-splitting farce. Note: Rumors contains adult language and situations.

Music and Lyrics by Roger Miller
Book by William Hauptman
Based on The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Big River combines a faithful retelling of Mark Twain’s classic novel with Americana music at its best. Toe-tapping, hand-clapping country and bluegrass tunes provide the backdrop to Huck and Jim’s escape to freedom down the Mississippi River. Behind the comic characters and hysterically funny situations, Big River weaves a story of American racial conflict and reconciliation, the quest for freedom, and the seduction of a new frontier.
Note: BIG RIVER contains racially charged language.
* Sam White will play “Huck Finn” on Saturday, January 31st.
